Turkish Society of medical Oncology supports the research and the cancer projects of our members. Research grants which are found to be essential for our country are given every year. We support the researchers who want to learn ‘’now how’’ and wants to participate in clinical and translational investigations. We give awards to our members for every SCI indexed article. SCHOLARSHIPS are given for abroad education and for important international cancer congress and courses. Details about the scholarships and the application process are available at www.kanser.org. To note being a member of TSMO is a must for application to this program.
In this regard, the society supports the members under 5 different available options.
1) Medical Oncology Research Project Support; open to applications whole year. Applications are evaluated two times a year (January 31st and July 31st) by a jury of 5 assigned by the EC. A maximum of 3 projects are accepted upon scientific qualification.
2) Medical Oncology Research Grant; given to the previous year publication performance of the investigators. Applications are evaluated once a year by a jury of 5 assigned by the EC. High scientific quality for publications and credibility for the journals are expected from the applicants to get this support.
3) Congress and meeting grants; Given to those specialists or young oncologists (one a year) who have first name oral / poster presentations at meetings like ESMO / ECCO / ASCO / UICC or AACR.
4) Abroad education grants; given to those who will attend a course / workshop / fellowship program in a well known dedicated cancer clinic. Support is 2000 USD monthly. Successful applicants present a report about their studies on their return.
5) Scientific Publication Support; can be applied with the last 2 years publications. The amount of support for individual publication is shared among the authors upon predefined rules.
